Reverend Victoria Etchemendy has a B.S. in Education and was ordained at Unity Ministerial School of Religious Studies, Lee's Summit, MO, in June of 1980. She has served in three established ministries as Senior Minister in Illinois, Washington, and Oregon.
In 1990 Reverend Etchemendy pioneered a new Unity ministry in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Originally called Unity Fellowship, its name changed to Unity World Healing Center in 1992.
UWHC started with five members and has steadily grown to an average Sunday attendance of 125-150. Sunday services were held at the Lakewood Center for the Arts for the first three years, and office space was leased from the city of Lake Oswego. Since then, Unity World Healing Center has been located at 366 Third Street, in downtown Lake Oswego, Oregon.
UWHC has won 3 grants through The Association for Unity Churches for radio programming. This has resulted in a dramatic growth curve due to the high visibility in the community. We have outgrown our current facilities and are ready to expand into the next step of our vision.
