Two guided meditations will be provided, along with brain-entrainment sounds to take you to the creative alpha and theta levels of creativity and relaxation.  This is painting as a process for self discovery, identifying and releasing limited beliefs through creative introspection. As the facilitator I will use private question strategies while you are painting, to take you deeper into the process. You don’t need to be an artist or a meditator to take this workshop, just open to listening and trusting your intution without judgment.

The materials include all paints, palettes, paper, easels, tarps and other gel mediums and paint extenders.  I provide non toxic materials.

About Amanda Breese

I grew up in a small town in PA, watching my dad play music at a very early age. I started playing the piano when I was 8 and I picked up a guitar when I was 16.

I spent a few years with my first band, Kabury Lane, playing the northeast PA music scene. We released an album, Segue, in 2007.

In 2009, I relocated to Portland, OR for graduate school and to explore my own music. Portland has been the best thing that could have happened in my life – I’ve been given the opportunity to play with some incredible people and I’ve found inspiration around every corner.

I write songs from my heart, and all I hope is that someone can find some connection or meaning in them.

I have a passion for music that I can’t explain in words and what I hope is that when you hear or see my play, whether it’s my own songs, or someone else’s, you can see and feel my connection to music.

This Sunday Naseem Rakha, author of The Crying Tree, and NPR journalist will speak at the UNITY Center about “Forgiving the Unforgiveable”.

Knowing that forgiveness is a choice, choose to forgive yourself of all others.  Choose to harness your energy into this present moment and to release the past.  Knowing that those who have hurt you in the past no longer have power over you,  forgive them.  You are free to choose a different way of being and so,  forgive yourself for any past mistakes.  You are free from the burdens, recriminations and guilt of the past as you forgive.  Your forgiveness bears wonderful fruit and you can expect miracles to manifest and a new life to unfold as you release.

Here is a forgiveness techique that can transform your life, from Catherine Ponder:

Spend half an hour every day mentally forgiving everyone that you are out of harmony with, or are concerned about.  Subconsciously they will respond.  If you have accused yourself of failure or mistakes, forgive yourself too.

1.  Get out a sheet of paper.  List the people, organizations, situations, or experiences of the past or present whom you now forgive.  Say the following affirmation for each.

“I FULLY AND FREELY FORGIVE.  I LOOSE YOU LET YOU GO TO YOUR GOOD QUICKLY AND IN PEACE.  ALL IS CLEARED UP BETWEEN US NOW AND FOREVER.”

2.  List on a sheet of paper the people, organizations, situations, or experiences of the past or present whom you desire to forgive you.  Say the following affirmation for each.

“YOU FULLY AND FREELY FORGIVE ME.  YOU LOOSE ME AND LET ME GO TO MY GOOD QUICKLY AND IN PEACE.  ALL IS CLEARED UP BETWEEN US NOW AND FOREVER.”

Why do this?

Many people are never permanently prospered, no matter what else they do, because they have not done this.  Until they forgive, their prosperity does not come.  The word “forgive” simply means “to give up.”  Forgiveness is a pleasant inner act that helps you “give up” negative emotions and clears away the blocks to your good.  As you practice forgiving yourself and others daily, the results in increased health, weath, and happiness will astound you!

Come to the 11AM service for a full service including the usual beautiful music you are used to, as performed by LaRhonda Steele, Joe Millward, and many other talented local musicians.
