A Season for Nonviolence – January 30 to April 4, 2010

A Season for NonviolenceA Season For Nonviolence starts with the anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on January 30th and extends to the anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. on April 4th.  During the month of February  we are inviting speakers from different spiritual traditions to share their thoughts on Peace and Oneness.  Hanny Freiwat will be our guest speaker on Feb. 7.

A Season for Nonviolence, January 30 – April 4, is a national 64-day educational, media, and grassroots campaign dedicated to demonstrating that nonviolence is a powerful way to heal, transform, and empower our lives and our communities. Inspired by the 50th and 30th memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this international event honors their vision for an empowered, nonviolent world.

“Be the Change You Want to See”

What an impact our loose change can have! Last year we collected $1,200 for the Avani School  in India.

This year the funds will go to Greg Mortensen, author of  Three Cups of Tea, who builds co-ed schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Between now and April 4th, please bring in your loose change and be a part of making a change in children’s lives.
