WELCOME

After 31 years of serving West Linn, Lake Oswego, and surrounding communities, The Unity Center Of West Linn is announcing we are closing. Founded on the idea of celebrating the one common spiritual thread that lives in every heart, we know many people have felt their hearts touched by this ministry. Equally, we acknowledge that each person coming through our doors has brought us their gifts.

In recent years, like many other spiritual communities, we have weathered steadily declining membership, multiple leadership transitions, and financial challenges. It has become clear that this is the appropriate time to bring our beloved spiritual center to a close.

So many of you have poured your energy, love, and resources into the Center over its 31 years! We are very thankful to have been on this spiritual adventure with you.  We are grateful beyond words to Rev Victoria and Paul Etchemendy for their creativity, and devotion in creating this spiritual home. We know that each of us has grown during our time in this Unity community.

Clear Water Lake

Our administrator Sharon will be working during this time. If you have any questions please call her at (503) 701-7687 or email at westlinnunitycenter@gmail.com. Contribution letters for tax purposes will be sent out in July. Upon our close we will contribute remaining assets to Unity World Healing Institute, Unity regional youth, and to The Institute For World Healing.

Our last Sunday service was June 27th, led by Rev Kathleen Verigin and Rev Christine Green, with music by Laila Murphy. The previous service on June 20th featured Rev Kathy Harwood Long and our founder, Rev Victoria Etchemendy. Both these services provided a moving and fitting close to our online Sundays and our ongoing legacy. All of our recorded services since late March 2020 can be found on YouTube under West Linn Unity Center.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Food From The Heart

For 30 years, we have provided and served a hearty and delicious meal to residents of the Transition Center in Portland.  There are opportunities for cooks and shoppers. Currently we cook the meal and deliver it to the Center, but when we go back to serving these meals in person, you will have the joy of serving this community. Afterward we often join in social activities as well. To learn more, contact the team leader.
